[Iconography and Meditation of the Song of Songs in the Baroque Period Between Confessionality and Transconfessionality]§The study presents milestones of the intermedial history of interpretation of the Song of Salomon in the 17th century. The painting of the patronage gallery in the church at Steinhagen (Western Pomerania) which was created about 1660 is analysed. The models on which the unknown artist drew came from the devotional work 'Divine flame of love' by Johann Michael Dilherr (1604-1669). This work contains not only many spiritual-lyrical contributions of the Baroque poet Georg Philipp Harsdörffer (1607-1658) but also 21 etchings of the Nuremberg painter, draughtsman and etcher Georg Strauch (1613-1675). All these examples are concretions of an early modern intermediality.
