The book is the last volume of the Collected Works of Jan Firbas covering the author's work published between 1994 and 2000. During this period, Firbas compares his conception of a functional sentence perspective with other approaches to information structure and focuses on deeper research into biblical texts. A detailed analysis of one of the biblical texts is also the basis of a revealing article on the dynamic-semantic homogeneity of the paradigmatic layers of a text. Firbas's last article, published in the year of his death, summarizes the main principles of FSP.
