The challenges facing African Christianity are similar to those the early Greco-Roman Christianity faced while trying to integrate the gospel in the ways that were understandable by locals, as well as being authentic as far as Christianity was concerned. In Africa, the churches are also trying to integrate some cultural values within Christianity so that Christianity will not be viewed as a foreign religion but as an African religion as part of a universal religion.
