It also offers young readers an excellent opportunity to learn other more unusual vocabulary items as the story develops in its jungle setting. Each chapter is preceded by a picture dictionary which helps children understand some of the less common words, and sparks off pre-reading classroom discussions. Following each chapter is a multiple-choice reading comprehension, a ‘fun activity’ – such as join the dots, listen and match, colouring in and much more.
